Our mining operations are carried out respecting social and environmental conditions and propitiating collaborative relationships with people and institutions in surrounding areas, in order to promote sustained development.

Discussions concluded with the Ticlacayán Community on the assignment of two hectares (5 acres) of land, having reached a collaborative agreement that has allowed the tailings dam to increase up to the 3392 level. Negotiation is pending on the land for the second reservoir. As compensation, the Company gave the Community a Caterpillar D6G tractor and social assistance.

Agreements were entered into with Cajamarquilla and Malauchaca for infrastructure works that are improving their quality of life. Yanapampa was given a children's games module.

An agreement was reached with squatters that had occupied Company property in the area called La Lagia. After signing documents acknowledging the Company's ownership and receiving financial compensation for the assets they had in this property, they voluntarily withdrew.

The Company has had an important economic, social and cultural presence in the Pasco Region. As part of the agreement for technical support from the mining companies to the regions, through the National Society of Mining, Oil and Energy and jointly with the mining companies in the Pasco Region, the services of a specialized organization have been retained to develop the profile for the public investment project named "Sustainable Development of Alpaca in the High Andean Regions of Pasco". A technical support commitment has also been made to the Provincial Municipality of Pasco to develop the profile for the "Industrial Park" project in the city of Cerro de Pasco. Our professionals have participated as speakers in various seminars and congresses at the Daniel Alcides Carrión National University.

The Company's social assistance activities have been affected by the intervention of parties external to the relationship between the Company and the peasant communities close to the mining camp. In the various mining regions of the country, non-governmental organizations funded by foreign institutions are giving social mobilization workshops to oppose mining activity development, attempting to create obligations that, since they are the government's responsibility, go beyond the social responsibility that the companies can actually take on.
